Geek A Week

Next week will be Week Three of GAW.  If anything has been missing from this project so far, it’s the delicate touch of a woman.  So as the first female geek added to the set, I’ve been fortunate to connect with one of the most visible, and some would argue, the most recognizable female face in geekdom today, Ms. Veronica Belmont.

If awesomeness were measured by Twitter followers (and let’s face it, a lot of time it is) then Veronica would rank as a member of the Royal Family of Awesome.  She has worked as a producer and host at CNET, Mahalo Daily and is currently the co-host of Revision3’s Tekzilla with Patrick Norton and the host of the Playstation Network’s weekly video game program, Qore. She is considered by many the first lady of tech geekdom and she certainly deserves a place in the GAW trading card set.

Veronica and I have connected, chatted it up and her card will be available for viewing next week. As a side note, one of the cool things about doing a phone interview with the Geek A Week is that some really cool ideas can just pop up from conversation.  I originally went in with a totally different concept for Veronica’s card  and at the last second, she suggested an incredible idea that not only made complete sense, but also was light years above what I had in mind.  You’ll see what I mean when I release the card next week. To say I’m stoked about the artwork is an understatement.  I would qualify myself as jazzed.

The next few weeks are proving to be very exciting indeed.  I was able to connect with several key figures in geekdom and I’m pulling together all the art and info to share with you soon.  Suffice to say, the deck is looking very cool right now.  Thanks for reading and if you like the blog and my art, share it with a friend!
